In 2006 the OpenAgenda.org web site was replaced by the newer
CharityScorecard.org site.
I've left the old OpenAgenda.org content here just for the historical record.
maybe: look for that website I once saw that was designed for organizing book clubs -- like meetup.com for books
maybe: think about having (10 monthly meetings, 1 per chapter) vs. (1 meeting, 10 spokespeople)
set up a web site that enables web-based collaboration
figure out how to get a site set up that reflects as
much as possible of the direction outlined in my "blue sky" feature list
maybe: work on setting up an e-mail account for "skinner@openagenda.org",
where all the e-mail sent to and from the account is automatically posted to a web page?
maybe: think about recruiting a volunteer to get a site set up?
maybe try to "hire" someone not by offering them N-thousand dollars in cash, but by
offering them philanthropic control of N-thousand dollars of the fund money?
maybe: find an ISP that can host an eZ publish site,
sign up for service, and experiment with using eZ publish?
maybe: tinker with the idea of achieving web-based
collaboration via a very simple home-made PHP/JavaScript solution with
very few bells and whistles?
maybe: set up a mailing list or newsletter signup,
for people who want to know what's up with the project
maybe: don't block on the web-based collaboration --
for now just move forward with a conventional web site where I'm the only person who can add content?
fix URL bugs
fix it so that visiting "http://openagenda.org" takes you
to "http://openagenda.org/" instead of "http://openagenda.org/openagenda/"
fix it so that visiting "http://openagenda.org/openagenda/page" takes you
to "http://openagenda.org/openagenda/page/" instead of "http://gumption.org/openagenda/page/"
look at related projects, to avoid duplication of effort, and to find people to work with
fix the CSS styles so that the nav-bar menu items
look right in IE, not just Firefox
make a favicon.ico for the site, and install it
mess around with the CSS colors and styles, to try
to make the site feel friendlier and more fun
have a look at Scott McCloud's books, Understanding Comics
and Reinventing Comics, and think about trying to jazz up the openagenda.org site
with some simple graphics and iconography
